Invitation to the 14th Research Day of the College of Medicine

Dear Student and Faculty

The 14th Annual Research Day at the College of Medicine, Qassim University, is a distinguished event that highlights the outstanding research efforts of students, faculty, and healthcare professionals

This event provides a platform for presenting innovative research through oral and poster presentations, promoting academic growth and encouraging collaboration among participants. It serves as an opportunity to exchange knowledge, foster creativity, and contribute to advancements in medical science

We invite you to join us in celebrating research excellence, recognizing achievements, and shaping the future of medicine through innovation and discovery

College Research Unit

:The Research Day Aims to

Provide a positive and productive platform for medical students, interns, physicians, and faculty members to showcase their research, achievements, awards, and innovations

Foster an interest in research among participants from diverse fields

Enable participants to present their research findings to peers, mentors, and colleagues

Promote collaboration and networking between students, interns, faculty members, and researchers across various disciplines

Participation is open to students, Interns, physicians, and faculty members in health-related fields

Applicants must have actively participated in or completed a research project

:Accepted research types include

Original studies

Case reports

Systematic reviews

:Abstract Submission

Length: Maximum 300 words

Formatting: Single-spaced, Arial font (size 10)

Do not include any references or footnotes

:Abstract structure

Title :A concise and descriptive title

Title in sentence case (first word capitalized only)

Authors :List all authors and their affiliations using the format [Last Name, First Initial] and a superscript to indicate each author's institutional affiliation

:Sections

Background: Introduce the research question and its significance

Methods: Describe the study design, participants, and methodology

Results: Summarize key findings, including statistics if applicable

Conclusion: Highlight implications and potential future directions

:Oral Presentations

Format: Use PowerPoint

Minimum font size: 24 points

:Include slides for

Title (with authors and presenter names)

Background/Introduction

Objectives

Methods

Results and Discussion

:Presentations will be evaluated based on

Clarity of presentation and stated purpose

Methodological rigor and relevance to medicine

Organization and visual appeal of materials (PowerPoint/Poster)

Interpretation of findings and engagement during Q&A

Overall significance and originality of research

Ability to articulate the research and to engage with the audience during Q&A

Prizes for the Top three oral presentations and top three posters

Recognition for significant research achievements, including awards and innovations

Certificates of appreciation will be given to event organizers

All presenters will receive certificates of participation

Structured networking sessions and informal meet-and-greet opportunities to foster collaboration between students and faculty

- Maintain professionalism during all presentations and discussions

Respect the contributions and time of all participants

Participants will receive constructive feedback on their presentations

Post-event surveys will be conducted to gather suggestions for future improvements
