About Electrical Engineering Department

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Qassim University, is an accredited academic unit committed to excellence in education, research, and community service, in alignment with national and international quality standards. The department aims to prepare highly qualified electrical engineers equipped with strong scientific knowledge and technical competencies to meet the evolving needs of local and international labor markets and to actively contribute to sustainable development.
The department offers two bachelor's degree programs: the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Power Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering, through a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses fundamental and advanced principles of electrical engineering, including power systems, energy conversion, power electronics, digital control systems, telecommunications, networking, and protection systems.
The programs emphasize the development of practical skills through state-of-the-art laboratories, applied projects, and field training programs designed in collaboration with industrial sectors. The undergraduate programs have been granted full international accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and national accreditation by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA), reflecting the department’s commitment to excellence and quality assurance.
The department fosters an academic environment that encourages innovation and scientific research and builds strategic partnerships with governmental and private sectors to enhance the professional opportunities available to its students and graduates. It remains dedicated to the continuous development of its academic programs and curricula in accordance with global best practices and the strategic objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
