Program mission:

Providing excellent educational, research, and training services in the fields of statistics that support the sustainable development of the Kingdom and contribute to the building of society and its welfare while preserving our Islamic values.

Program Goals:

  1. Develop critical and logical thinking skills to enable students to continue their postgraduate studies.

  2. Enable students to acquire statistical analysis skills to solve problems and develop oral and written communication skills.

  3. Provide students with the values of teamwork, self-development, work ethics, and shouldering personal, social and professional responsibility.

  4. Provide research and training services in the fields of statistics that support sustainable development in the region/Kingdom.

Program Graduate Attributes:

  1. The ability to deeply understand and thoughtfully engage with their field, using basic and advanced statistics to reach sound and robust conclusions.

  2. The ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems in various statistical contexts and come up with new solutions, using statistical reasoning to improve decisions.

  3. The ability to use knowledge from different fields and collect and analyze data with statistical tools to understand complex information in various situations.

  4. The ability to clearly communicate ideas to different audiences, work well in teams, and use digital tools, utilizing charts and statistical reports, to solve present problems and innovate.

  5. The ability to responsibly and honestly report statistical information, respecting laws, ethics, and security requirements.

  6. The ability to adapt and learn independently, respond well to changes, use predictive statistics, keep growing personally, and take opportunities confidently.

  7. The ability to show professionalism and use statistical evidence to support leadership decisions in their work and community activities.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. On successful completion of the program, students are able to clearly state and recall scientific facts and concepts that underlie statistical-related scientific domains.

  2. On successful completion of the program, students are able to accurately outline fundamental statistical methods that explain and predict the occurrence of some scientific, industrial, or social problem.

  3. On successful completion of the program, students are able to name, apply and deduce from appropriate statistical analysis methods in different statistical contexts.

  4. On successful completion of the program, students are aware of relevant assumptions, tests, representations and sampling methods and of how these may be modified in response to changing data nature.

  5. On successful completion of the program, students are able to apply conceptual understanding of the principles and theories dealing with all aspects of data including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experiments.

  6. On successful completion of the program, students are able to plan routine statistical procedures and techniques appropriately and to identify situations requiring development of innovative solutions, drawing on relevant theoretical and practical insights

  7. On successful completion of the program, students are able to investigate relatively complex statistical problems using a range of combined statistical methods, software and techniques, and to appropriately analyse and interpret their results.

  8. On successful completion of the program, students are able to compare and contrast from real life, issues problems and observations in the different domains of applied statistics using a range of data analysis sources and to explain and criticize their conclusions.

  9. On successful completion of the program, students are able to take responsibility for own learning and to identify and use means of finding new information or techniques of analysis needed for completion of tasks.

  10. On successful completion of the program, students are able to contribute to and facilitate constructive resolution of issues in group or team situations, whether in a leadership role or as a member of a group.

  11. On successful completion of the program, students are able to take the initiative in identifying issues requiring attention and in addressing them appropriately on an individual or on a team basis.

  12. On successful completion of the program, students are able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, selecting and using forms of presentation appropriate for differing statistical contexts.

  13. On successful completion of the program, students are able to routinely use the most appropriate information and communications technology in gathering, interpreting and communicating statistics-related information and ideas.

  14. On successful completion of the program, students are able to identify relevant statistical or mathematical techniques and apply them creatively in interpreting information and proposing appropriate solutions to all sciences related problems, as example, demographical, medical scientific, industrial, or social.

  15. On successful completion of the program, students are able to assess the limits of usability of different statistical and mathematical techniques in different science contexts.
