About program
Program Mission:
Excellence in physics science-related scientific research and higher education, with an emphasis on producing highly qualified graduates with a background in physics and related fields capable of competing in the labor market and actively promoting sustainable development and community service.
Program Goals:
To provide students with a broad knowledge and understanding of core areas in physics.
To successfully gain entrance to scientific research centers or employment in the fields of nuclear energy, renewable energy, modern nanomaterials, and their uses, medical physics, and laser physics.
To promote scientific research and to qualify specialized scientific and professional cadres to contribute to carrying out distinguished national and international scientific and practical research.
Graduate Requirements
Program Graduate Attributes:
Holders of a Master Science in Physics degree should demonstrate the following:
Having a deep knowledge of the concepts, principles, and laws underlying physical phenomena and keeping abreast of modern scientific and technical developments in physics.
Knowledgeable in theoretical and experimental techniques and able to select appropriate procedures for understanding interdisciplinary areas of physics.
Practical competency to solve problems based on advanced knowledge of experimental and theoretical physics.
Having the technical and artificial intelligence skills and knowledge which enable graduates to adapt to new technologies in physics areas.
Experienced in doing scientific research in physics.
Having proactivity, experience in group work and respecting the ethical behaviours in issues relevant to physics.
Educational Outcomes
PLOs
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to recall specialized concepts, principles, theories, and outline the recent developments in Physics.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to critically identify and characterize processes, materials, techniques, practices, procedures, and conventions to be used in understanding experimental or theoretical research in physic domains: advanced materials, optics, renewable energies and nuclear physics.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to apply advanced concepts and principles of physics to formulate adequate theoretical setup for proposing explanations and rationalizations of physics phenomena.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to use specialized skills in applying the physics theories and concepts for solving relevant problems in the area of advanced materials, optics, renewable energies and nuclear physics.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to practice laboratory and/or computational techniques with appropriate skills and to process data and information quantitatively and/or qualitatively in Physics context.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to select, use, and adapt enquiry methodologies, advanced digital technological, and related tools to conduct advanced research in physics.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to communicate Physics contents in various forms, and critically assess and review cogently relevant literature pointing out its significance.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to make and defend unbiased and objective judgments in issues relevant to advanced physics; maintain scientific integrity in terms of ethical principles within a collaborative framework.
