Master of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering

 The MSc-REE program has been prepared jointly by the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Qassim University. It grants a Master of Science degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, and the program accepts degree holders Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or equivalent from Saudi universities or others. The curriculum contains courses in addition to a research thesis; the total credit hours are 30 hours, with 24 hours for the courses and 6 hours for the thesis. The degree normally takes two years, with the first three semesters dedicated to coursework and the thesis beginning in the third semester. The program is characterized by its flexibility, where it is possible to choose a set of courses in which the graduate focuses on one or more types of renewable energy and rationalization of energy consumption.

  •      40,000 (   10,000 per semester)

GPA:

  • Minimum of 3.00 out of 5.00, 2.00 out of 4.00 or 72.5 out of 100 in the Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 3.75 out of 5.00, 2.75 out of 4.00 or 80 out of 100 in the specialty of Electricity or Mechanics in the Bachelor of Technical College.

Mechanism of admission:

  1.     Bachelor of mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of electricity or mechanics from the Technical College.
  2.    The GPA is not less than 3.00 out of 5.00, 2.00 out of 4.00 or 72.5 out of 100 in the Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  3.   The GPA is not less than 3.75 out of 5.00, 2.75 out of 4.00 or 80 out of 100 in the specialty of Electricity or Mechanics in the Bachelor of Technical College.
  4.   Pass all supplementary courses not exceeding one academic year with an average of at least "very good 3.75 out of 5” for students with Bachelor of Technical College.
  5.   Have a score of at least 67 in (STEP) or pass the English language proficiency test (QUEPT)with an average of at least 8 and is submitted through Qassim University.
